Customer Background

Shenzhen Hai Jixing International Agricultural Products Logistics Park possesses a unique core location advantage with a well-developed surrounding transportation network. The park covers a construction area of 300,000 square meters, with a total building area of 820,000 square meters and an investment of 1.8 billion RMB. As a model market for the "Hai Jixing" brand development of the agricultural products company, it was designed from the outset with forward-thinking planning, incorporating the company's innovative achievements in areas such as engineering standardization and information technology. Upon completion, it is set to become China's most advanced agricultural product trading platform, with initial estimates indicating an annual transaction volume of 6 million tons and a transaction value of 30 billion RMB.

The park's business systems run on a virtualization platform using centralized shared storage, while some operations run on physical machines. With the development of the park's business, the complexity and data volume of the production systems are growing rapidly, and the security requirements for these systems are increasing. How to quickly and effectively protect the production systems, and how to rapidly recover data and restore crashed systems (especially the parking fee system) in the event of a disaster to ensure the efficient and stable operation of business systems, presents a critical challenge that must be addressed.

IT Environment

  • Applications: SMS System, Water & Electricity Management System, Attendance System, Smart Management System, Parking System, etc.

  • Database: Oracle, SQL Server, etc.

  • Virtualization: VMware

  • Hardware Environment: X86 servers, IBM AIX minicomputers, IBM storage, etc.

IT Challenges

  • Numerous business systems with insufficient operations and maintenance personnel.

  • Lack of backup methods, unable to ensure data security.

  • Insufficient fault defense capabilities, unable to achieve rapid recovery.

FcStor FDP Integrated Disaster Recovery Solution

  • Comprehensive protection for all systems.

  • One-click automated recovery and takeover.

  • Real-time backup + Continuous Data Protection (CDP).

  • Defense against various physical failures and logical disasters.

A FcStor FDP Disaster Recovery Appliance was deployed in the park's data center and connected to the data center network environment to achieve real-time backup and rapid recovery for core and other business systems. Different strategies were applied based on the specific business needs, automatically retaining multiple recovery point copies on the FcStor FDP. Systems such as parking fee collection, smart management, and water/electricity management had Continuous Data Protection enabled, allowing restoration to any point in time in case of a failure, with recovery precision down to one-millionth of a second.

Should a system outage occur due to virus infection, hacker attacks, improper human operation, or hardware failure, the P2V (Physical-to-Virtual) and V2V (Virtual-to-Virtual) capabilities of the FcStor FDP can be utilized to quickly restore the system and data on a recovery validation platform, enabling emergency takeover of business systems and ensuring customer business continuity.
